Since its first product launch in 2004, Hourglass has established itself as a vegan and cruelty-free brand that exists at the intersection of science, beauty, and luxury.
20 years and countless breakthrough formulas later, Hourglass continues its legacy with an unwavering commitment to cruelty-free luxury beauty.
SEEING EYE TO EYE WITH ANIMALS
Since our first product launch in 2004, Hourglass has been proudly cruelty-free and became a fully vegan brand in 2020. We donate 1% of annual net profits from hourglasscosmetics.com to the Nonhuman Rights Project, an organization that works to secure fundamental rights for animals.
Continuing its commitment to animal welfare, Hourglass created Red 0 – the industry’s first-ever vegan replacement for carmine – a widely-used red pigment produced from crushed female insects.
With nearly 70,000 female insects used to create one pound of the crimson dye traditionally used in cosmetics, Red 0 is a groundbreaking product that symbolizes our commitment to animal welfare: zero animal by products, zero animals harmed.
